Gloves

I'll be coming back to Boro for 5th time in Jan (and hopefully again in March). I have yet to find gloves that keep my fingers toasty. I have poor circulation and at times its really painfull when the temp really drops. Wonder if anyone has any suggestions/recommendations for good gloves. I have been spending about £30 on a pair so not cheap as chips, but I will fork out more £ if I can get a good glove/mit. Any suggestions ?! Thanks for any advice

re: Gloves

I ride a motorcycle all year round I find the best way to keep your hands warm is by wearing two or three layers. Thinking about it now though you may be better off carrying a second pair inside your coat then changing them when you feel your fingers getting cold.

re: Gloves

You need Goretex gloves. They will keep your hands warm and dry. But they'll set you back £70-80. Best place for gloves is probably Snow & Rock. You can order online if you don't live near a shop.

re: Gloves

Mittens are definitely warmer - but of course you haven't got the finger dextrity that gloves provide. For many skiers who wear mittens this is not a problem though. Agree with Christine that the outer should be Goretex or genuine quality equivilent. You'll also find that a thin pair of quality thermal wicking liners - with either mittens or gloves - will make a BIG difference. Best place to go for quality gear in UK is probably Snow & Rock, and they give you good advice too. Sorry to say ...

Sorry to say though that for the right gear for your circulation problem you're probably looking at around the 100 mark

re: Gloves

Try glove liners, you can pick them up in Decathlon or somewhere similar for about £5, I found they really helped, another layer and all that.

Also help to get your gloves back on when you've got them wet, they seem to be much easier to drag on!

re: Gloves

My daughter and I suffer from cold hand and have tried many gloves and they all end up damp inside even with seperate liners. I bought a pair of Salamon Kokoon black leather gloves that have Primaloft insullation this year and they were fab and not that expensive at around £60. My daughter will be getting a pair for xmas!
Lots of sites online or Severn Sports in leeds sell them. Hope you get sorted. Very Happy

re: Gloves

Thanks to all - several options already tried out (I also find not having a big lunch helps!! Must be that blood going to your tum - takes the blood away from your extremeties!). Like the Salamon Kokoon idea - I haven't tried leather gloves yet. Thanks again everyone.
