Goggles vs. Glasses

i have been having a debate with friends about whether they prefer to were goggles or sunglasses when skiing. i seem to be the only one you prefers sunglasses, they think too much light gets in with sunglasses. does anyone else have any opinions to add to this?

re: Goggles vs. Glasses

If you are using good quality sunglasses which have high UV protection and wrap around properly then there isn't much of a problem, I use oakley eye jackets, But if I am doing stupid stuff like off piste or hitting the bumpy stuff I wear goggles, they dont fall off as easily.

Also if its bad weather I wear my goggles as they protect my face more.

Some people think glasses look cooler, but its not cool hunting in 2 foot of fresh powder for your £100 sunglasses, believe me!!

Agree with you there CP - generally wear sunglasses for the 'normal' stuff, as long as you have decent lenses and the wrap around style...

But when it is blowing a gale and loads of snow dumping, better get some goggles on - just bought a new pair of Smith ones last week.

re: Goggles vs. Glasses

SUNGLASSES ARE OK FOR GENERAL SKIING ,BUT THE MOMENT YOU GET A BIT OF SPEED UP THEN THE COLD AIR GETS BEHIND THE GLASSES AND MAKES YOUR EYES WATER.
MOST OF THE SKI INSTRUCTORS WEAR GOGGLES.
GET GOOD GOGGLES AS CHEAP ONES FOG UP.

re: Goggles vs. Glasses

Do any of you wear glasses under the goggles? I think I saw some special goggles advertised for this but I can't remember where.

re: Goggles vs. Glasses

Adidas (hmm how do you spell that!!) do goggles with an optical insert that you get done to your prescription that fits inside some of their goggles, Think they might be Ronin's or something like that.
Oakley do Various prescription sunglasses if you are prepared to pay the heavy price!
