re: HORROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Having been away since friday ive just trawled through various postings and have come across your little hoilday bonus, as they say been there seen that and its a complete gut wrencher, leaves a very hollow feeling in your stomach, probably because you feel so unable to do something, like aquaint your intruders with a blunt instrument, look on the bright side though pete, could have been worse if you had of been home! Just think of the snow and beer, and more beer.

re: HORROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi pete, what can I say that hasn't already been said............it goes without saying how sorry we are to here your bad news. try and not let it spoil your holiday or your 'fun outlook' on life or the b*****ds will have stollen more than material things ( easier said than done I expect at the mo ) . The only way to get back at them ( without the use of a baseball bat!!! ) is to carry on ,enjoy your new house / your holiday / and lfe.

best wishes

re: HORROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As everyone has said, so sorry that this has happened, I was burgled twice in 5 days, and it is one of the worst violations ever.
Don't let it spoil your holiday!

re: HORROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So So sorry to hear your news, hope you get it all sorted out before you go away.

Perhaps you need to buy a dog or something to guard the house. Don't know if you like them though. Maybe a St Bernard carrying a flask of brandy would be OK!!!

Try and enjoy your holiday without too much worry. We had to change our locks night before we went to SB last year cos Daz lost his keys and I worried but soon forgot after a few Booze Booze Booze

Love to you both

re: HORROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pete. Can't say much more. Fraser and Sarah are right about not being in. We were done some years ago. We were asleep in bed at the time - at least we didn't wake up - but the feeling you get when you come down and all is not as you left it!

Hope it doesn't spoil your holiday too much.

Mad What a sad start to the new year. Violation of other people and their property, be it home, car, person is the worst. Mad It is completely inexcusable and when they do finally catch up with these villains they get let off too lightly IMO. They should set the dogs on them and throw away the key.

Hopefully your insurance will compensate for the material loss although this will not cover the feeling of violation and rape of your new home Confused Give it time and you should start to ...

A decent alarm system, good locks, double glazing should hopefully help you feel more secure. (Hungry guard dogs and a shotgun will also help!) Sadly there is only so much you can do thugho as we are often hearing in the news, people can be targetted on their way into their home or even when in their home like the Chelsea football players and Chelsea boss (?) were i think in recent weeks. Just remain vigilant when at home and leave your home secure and make sure your insurance is suitable.

Hope all gets better for you and your wife from here on in...

re: HORROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

not that this will help but I had a ADT alarm system linked to a control centre with 24 hour monitoring, double glazing, dead bolts on both doors, 7 lever chub locks.....all highly rated by insurance companies to bring down my insurance premium.....and the little B*****D's still broke in and had away a lot of goods.
ADT informed the police 3 hours after my neighbor, who was putting my dustbins out, found the smashed in back door....and I mean smashed in!

It takes time but you do get that ...

It takes time but you do get that good feeling about YOUR home back....
Take care and have a great holiday.....maybe next year we will be in the same place at the same time!!! This year I'm in Borovets from 7th Feb, so sadly will miss the big bash. Get bladdered for me!
