Hi all,
We will be going to Bansko again in December, but are also looking to get another week in at end of January but are looking for somewhere that has decent green runs for a learner as she's too nervous on blues (took 2 hrs to get down one blue in Bansko) so must have good, wide greens, plus intermediate and a few black runs for the rest of us. Have been to Banf, Serr Chevalier and Champoluc, so looking for somewhere different, but not too costly.
Also, although we don't need a nightclub every night, some nightlife/apres ski would be good, as all the above had very little.
What's your take on the place?, it looks ok to me, but there doesn't seem to be many opeartors that market the place, so if you have been who did you book with?

Donkeywalloper - what's up with you, had a bad day??
She was very nervous, never skied before, was given crap skis and boots that were hurting her (she changed them), but was determined to have a go!! and the slopes were packed full of ski schools and other learners cos there was nowhere else for them to go
Were you never a learner then.......at anything????
If you like Canada...try Blue Mountain in Collingwood, it's about 2hrs north of Toronto not too costly and easy to get to (car hire in Jan/ Feb is cheap and fuel very cheap!). Losts of good easy, intermediate and some excellent black (single and double diamond). The runs aren't particularly long and all on the one side of the mountain, but the uplift is great...all double/triple and quad chairs and very little time queing(sp?).
Or, try one of the Quebec resorts which are also good (Mt. ...

Can I suggest Bansko again, but leave your mate on the nursery slope at Banderishka Polyana, or does she want to come down runs with you ? While blue 10 isn't the flattest of slopes, it is very wide, and should give any newbie enough confidence to turn.
