re: Holiday in Chepelare and Pamporovo

Hi guys,
just came back from morning skiing at Cheps.
I was ok, but the rain earlier this week took it's toll. Still very skiable from mid-station to the bottom. Hopefully we won't get anymore of this April weather.
One thing I cannot undestand is why they don't use the cannons, installed there only before this winter, all night long when the temperture drops. They were on and off the whole morning, but more off than on.

Anywhere else they will create a perfect even cover with them if need to be and maintain it thereafter.
Honestly frustrating.
Can anybody actually find out who manges these places, because they need a serious talking to.
They probably don't realise, that even running the place one winter at no profit or even a loss can pay off many times over when the season is good.
I don't know if there is just no brains around here at all or there are brains, but not at the right places.
I scream, "Wake the hell up people in Bulgaria" , from what seems to be a nation of people not using a common sense and some good business calculations at all sometimes. People I got to know around here are just great, but who on earth is running these places?

But as I said it is skiable in Cheps. It just has the facility to be brilliant now, so why it isn't?
Going to Pamps tomorrow morning to see how is the skiing there.

P.S. Please post any ideas on what can we do as people on the ground to try to make things better around here. And also if anybody knows somebody in higher management that we could get to, and have a serious chat. They are digging themselves deeper and deeper into a big hole they are in at the moment, when it comes to number of tourists here, now!

Thanks, Pavel Smile

Hi guys,
I don't know if anyone is reading these older posts anymore?
Btt here it goes as I promised after skiing Pamps today.
The snow earlier this week at the top has made a huge difference. It was all good sliding on the slopes that are open.
A very good effort made with snowmaking on the Green 6 all the way to the bottom of Malina. (efforts much appreciated by all of us sliders Smile
It looks like another dump like the one last Wed. and all or most of Pamps could be open. A lot is ...

Hope for more snow and we'll see Smile

Overall I would say that sliding was brilliant under the circumstances this season.

Your replies appreciated. At least I know that someone is reading this Smile

Pavel

P.S. Might try Cheps. on tuesday morning and see if improvements in snowmaking have been made and sliding gets better there Smile will report if anyone reads this.

re: Holiday in Chepelare and Pamporovo

Pavel, I have been following the thread. Do please keep adding because the more information we have about the area the better. The fact that there is the option to combine the skiing in areas close to each other is actually quite encouraging, for me.

I guess it is valuable for anyone considering booking a skiing holiday.

re: Holiday in Chepelare and Pamporovo

Appreciate the update Pavel - sound like it's improving all the time.

Can you confirm which slopes are open and which are closed?

Snezhanka 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, etc..
The Wall?
Smoylan Lakes?
Back Blue?

Many thanks

Pete
Cool

re: Holiday in Chepelare and Pamporovo

Hi Graybo,
thanks for that.I hope we get some more posts here.
Skiing the two is a good oportunity for holiday makers as you say.
I realise that and am trying to promote it.
I obviously rely on people coming here like a lot of others.
One of the reasons I'm trying to promote this and take people to Cheps. But more importantly, nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing happy customers and meeting new friends. I love skiing with other people, taking them to my favourite places for ...

One of the reasons I'm trying to promote this and take people to Cheps. But more importantly, nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing happy customers and meeting new friends. I love skiing with other people, taking them to my favourite places for food etc.
And if I can make a living doing that as well, what more could I wish for. So hopefully in the future I will, but mostly I hope I will meet a lot of you guys and we'll have a great time together and you will go home telling everybody about your great holiday.

And Pamps and Cheps will be alive for a long time to come Smile

Thanks Pavel Smile
