Nico

I'm just stating that I have a hunch that prices are artificially inflated in Borovets to take advantage of the income levels of visiting tourists and would be intersted to know if dual pricing takes place. ie Natives pay less which I understand is a little illegal under EU law. Where do you live Nico?

Just found all the replies - cheers! I'm sure my bf and I will certainly have more than enough skiing to last us the week but would be great to check out the 1/2 day ski in another area, ice skating and horse riding. Will be having a pop at night skiing too as well, I hope.

On the topic of expenses - I worked out that 80 lev to is about £36 (correctish??) and the average cost of a 2 hour hack out in UK would be min of about £35-40 depending on the stables obviously, So I would have no ...

Seems a fair price to me for the experience, not something you get to do every day in Uk - riding in the snow.

Make sure you don't wear the same trousers you ride in on the plane home - they are not the best groomed horses I've seen and you may find people moving away from you Very Happy

re: Horseriding In Borovets??

Haha - people do that to me anyway after I've been riding anyway!! But yes, in a plane environment I dont think I would appreciate being subjected to that..... Wink

I live in The Netherlands. My wife is Bulgarian. We come to Borovets every year (since 1983), so know the place very well. You are correct that 80 lev is much ( for BG standards ) but I think it's a fair price for a +2hours tourist attraction. I know the people who run "the stable". They have to make their living in a few months. Only few customers in summertime.

re: Horseriding In Borovets??

Dual pricing
used to be "normal" in BG. It's forbidden by law since BG became a member of the EU. So now prices are now the same for everybody for Hotels / Skilift etc.
