Hi to anyone who has been to the Pirin. I know there are at least 2 cos I talked to you the other week. It is half board basis but there are 2 restaurants so how does it work. Can we go to either.Also can anyone advise whether booze prices are more expensive in the bars on the slopes compared to the town.

Yes it is more expensive on the slopes than in the town, but when you compare the prices to the uk, you still can't complain!

Got back from teh Pirin last week- and didn't know there were two restaurants! The main restuarant serves breakfast buffet (cereal/natural yoghurt, pastries, cake and a selection of COLD fried eggs, hash browns, sausages plus coffee, tea and orange juice). Simple, and OK.
Dinner was buffet style again, and pretty uninspiring. Usually a couple of meat dishes, potatoes, rice, stuffed green peppers and some unapproachable fish! We gacve upo after two n ights and went to teh Mehanas where we ...

beer prices are ridiculous (on teh slopes or in teh village so it isn't an issue!)

Was only aware of one restaurant last year.With regards to drinks prices, a (1/2 litre) bottle of beer was I lev (37p) in the Mehanas and 2 leva in the Hotel (doubt it would be any more on the slopes).
Last year I ate out every other night, had on average 6-9 drinks a night, paid for 2 massages, bought some goggles and still couldn't spend £100 in the week. Believe me, you will not have to worry about the price of things in Bansko unless there has been some serious inflation !!!!!!!!

There is a Mehana downstairs in the Pirin, but it wasn't open when we were there last January. The restaurant upsatairs is, as Graham said, buffet style, but if you treat it as fuel for the system rather than a gourmet experience then you'll do fine.
We ate out once in the week at a Taverna on the town square and it was fabulous. Local dancing, tons of beer, rakhiya and food - £8 each!
Going back to teh Pirin on 15th - can't wait. The bar just in reception is good - lots of sofas and ...

Stayed in Hotel Pirin last year and it was very nice. Especially if you like chicken, please say you like chicken because it seams like that is all they do..
It is very cheap in the town centre look out for the supermarkets where last year we found a local bottle of beer for the same as 16p, naturally we had to buy one or two. The local bottles of vodka are very cheap as well about 1.50 - £2 a bottle, sound good I thought so.

Thanks Iain. When you go this time if you investigate the mehana grateful for any feedback. The lobby bar sounds nice and I understand there is some kind of Night Bar also?? We are not going until Feb but can't wait. Opted for later as we thought the snow conditions may be better then. Think people going Xmas/New Year spend most of their time panicking about the snow!!re: Hotel Pirin Bansko
