Hotel change!

Anyone else had hotel change just notified by Balkan? Travelling out on 28th Jan. and should be staying in Strazhite but overbooked. We booked last March
Offered others - anyone stayed in Perun, Pirin or Lion???
Advice would be appreciated.

Never stayed there BUT have stayed in Bansko and if I remember correctly the Lion and the Perun are across the road from each other (both are walking distance to the gondola)...the Lion looks to be larger with a bit of a grander lobby...I've heard that the Perun rooms are that big. However, both hotels are of a decent standards.
The Pririn is further 'down the hill' and sits just off the main town square. Popped in there last year for a drink and it seemed A.O.K.! It's about a 20 minute ...

lion is awsome, came back yesyerday, very frequent shuttle bus good food., amazing roooms. cant find 1 problem....steve

Thanks for that MB , but we've been to Bansko several times so know the layout but would like a few reports about the hotels - have heard the Pirin looks ok but the food particularly the breakfasts are a bit dire!!! Taking 4 18-25 year old 'male children' with us so that won't go down too well! We usually eat out in the evening anyway but need a decent breakfast.re: Hotel change!

Overbooking seems to happen quite frequently according to reports. Last summer our return flight was 'overbooked' - we were left waiting for 3 hours for next available (party of 9, incl babies). Offered us sep flights, but no use as we had joint transport booked at other end! How can this happen when you book months in advance?re: Hotel change!
Don't know but I'm seriously naffed off 
We've already had a flight change - they informed us of that the day after we'd paid the full balance - suprise,suprise we've travelled with Balkan for several years because until recently they've been the main tour operators going to Bansko, and I've usually defended them on this site - but will look elsewhere to book for next season. By the way Balkan flights change every time - if they don't get you on the way out - they will on the way ...
