I always try to give an update whilst in resort so here goes,
Arrived Sunday, flight and transfer no problems. In fact we picked up a tail wind on the way over and cut 40mins off out flying time!
First two days skiing were great, snow was alright although some icy patches this was nothing more than you would find in xscape so easily skiable if you're confident enough!

Hi all,
I always try to give an update whilst in resort so here goes,
Arrived Sunday, flight and transfer no problems. In fact we picked up a tail wind on the way over and cut 40mins off out flying time!
First two days skiing were great, snow was alright although some icy patches this was nothing more than you would find in xscape so easily skiable if you're confident enough!
Today it has rained all day... even at the top of the mountain, I could have jumped in the hotel pool and stayed drier! Skiing was still fun and the blues and reds are mostly great. They were getting a little slushy towards the end of the day but still caused no real problems. The ski road has been a pleasure on all three days...
Snow-Forecast.com forecast snow from today onwards, it was wrong, there was a flurry up top but it was mainly rain or hail. I really hope it does change to snow but temps on the mountain are still above freezing. Skiing or boarding should be ok for the next few days but it could do with a dump of snow just to freshen things up.
We are all having a blast but there are a few niggles with the Hotel Bansko which I'll post about upon my return. So far so good but the race is on to dry out all our gear for tomorrow! Boots are packed with newspaper, radiators on full blast and clothes hung!
Any questions please ask i'll be online until about 6.15 English time
hi, is this unusual weather? I was in borovets a couple of years ago and it was -8 degrees!! hoping to book a trip to bansko on the 28th feb and a bit reluctant if there isnt going to be any decent snow!! i know its unpredictable but what are usually the snowiest times of year out there?

Jan and feb are usually spot on. Don't think you'll have any probs end Feb. Rain isn't unheard of especially in town but it was rain all over mountain, put a bit of a dampner on things but we still had fun today.
Hope that snow predicted for tomorrow and fri comes though cos it'll freshen up the runs
Oh and regarding prices of food etc... quite expensive up the mountain but to be expected... chips are 5lv, chicken soup is 6lv, water is 3lv per 500ml bottle...
Not too bad really though, pamps was more last year. We pay about 12 pounds between 3 of us for a light lunch so not really as bad as it could be.
Toilets are free of charge which is handy lol.
In resort it is a lot cheaper and we're situated near old town so we went round the corner from the hotel and paid an average 3lv ...
