re: Info wanted.

I would certainly recommend a day or 2 in Veliko Tarnovo on the way over to Sunny Beach. It wouldnt be too far off the route between Sofia and Sunny Beach. The medieval capital of Bulgaria. Plovdiv is also a pleasent stop over

Thanks.....more ideas there. Travelled from Plovdiv for overnight stay in Karlovo 2years ago. From there over the Shipka Pass, Gabrovo for another overnight stay in Veliko Tarnovo returning as you suggested via Shumen and Varna to Sunny Beach.
Last year we went to Silistra, crossing over into Romania then to Dobrich, Balchik and Kaliakra.

Hi, for your trip to Borovets, you could check out rila lodge (www.rilalodge.com) which is an english guest house located just outside Samokov about 10 minutes car ride from Borovets.

re: Info wanted.

hi.

if you check zoldi.com they have properties for sale, also they run some apts as bed + breakfast etc.it is on the edge of the rila mountains. you can visit the seven lakes area which is apparently beautiful in 1 days walking tour. you can hire a guide and do an overnight stay at the rila monastry, walking to the monastry through the mountains on the 1st day, staying overnight in log cabins etc and walking back the next, apparently its a good trip.
i havent done these yet as i am ...

i havent done these yet as i am purchasing an apt with them which is nr where you will stay in the pine ridge apts. i have stayed there myself and they are quite new and a good spec.
also if you know anyone who is possibly interested, i am selling 20% shares in my apt for the price of £17,000. this is inclusive of all fees, i.e. solicitors, local purchase taxes, furniture pkg. this price is quoted on the pound to euro exchange rate of £ to 1.11euro. everyone will get 10wks usage allowance per yr and the local site fees are under £500 so should be no more than £100 per 20% share per yr. this is ownership and not timeshare, each owner can sell their share when they like and pocket the price increase as an investment profit.
it is rentable for the ski season and in the late spring/summer early autumn for ramblers etc, you can also do horse riding, mountain bike riding, scrambling, but that is in limited areas.
i think you can also try archery, shooting + hunting possibly. check out the bulgaria ski site and zoldi.com to find things to do. also there are various site if you google to find places to stay and things to do. thanks for your time, have a good holiday. gary
