Well - firstly views when you are using it yourself it will be nicer/more to see other than another building, 2 if your advertising it privatly if you have top floor or 3rd floor then you can highlight that whereas if you were ground you wouldnt.
Ground floor clearly has the security issues to include - nice as it would be to have a BBQ/stroll in from the outdoor pool in the summer to your pad.

Currently they are through the Developers own site they offer property management services. Why did I do this? Well firstly Im getting married this year, new high pressure job with lots of overseas travel and a few other things which means that my free time is highly valuable to me so the premium you pay for them in this instance is IMHO worth it.

Also remember thyey will arrange for the change over facility, replace any damaged items etc etc, they are the first port of call. Im a Uk landlord too and I do it all myself and believe me when you get a call at 9pm on a week night just as your settling in for the night they call with an emergency you have to respond and fix it. Now take that issue and 4000miles away its just not feasable.

Also with the cash aspect you may meet rogue tourists who dont pay you etc. There is a lot to consider and all that excluding the forign exchange/interest rates for the mortgage & your self assessment form - which as its forign income will be the long version so unless your an accountant you may need help filling it in the first time or first few times.

Hi,

I own a 1 bed apartment in Bansko, Purchase it off plan early 2005 when you see the whole apartment block get sold within 2 weeks.

Now the story is very different, new apartments stays on the market for months and some even over a year.

With the current exchange rate. Don't do it!

Bansko will rise eventually but it will take 5 to 10 years may be more.

I would suggest you take a look of apartments availability on Alexander Services site and you will see most apartment are only rented and used for around 4-5 weeks a year, the rent earn will pay for the services of property management and possibility your service charge for the year. But I think it's better to keep the apartment for my friends and family who I know will not trash the place!

So I won't recommend it at the moment if you thinking of as an invester. But maybe later! unless you are very keen skier or snowboarder wanting to come out often then it's is cheap compare to the Alps, US and Canada!

otherwise if you thinking just about investment, I'm would suggest NYC in US if you can afford it. Pound to US rate is good, NYC is like London, rental market is strong. I'm planning that this will be next oversea investment.

The US property market has a long way to drop yet and given the far higher purchase price its leaving you rather exposed (well most ave joe's).

There could be a global property crash coming then it might not happen the pound may collapse then it might not Bansko may just not grow as some expect then again it might.

Its not an easy decision. I was lucky when I bought my 2 1 bedders they were cheaper than a 330D BMW (each one) I fancied a new car a the time but then I saw this and ...

I personally quite like the idea of a £13k Sunny Beach Appt provided it has the balcony facing the correct way and it has a nice big enough pool then its a great price, and one I'd not bother to rent out at just keep it use it myself only & close family.
