I paid an Extra £300 to ski in Andorra Dan cant say I would do it again

Me and my friends have just paid £340 for a weeks Skiing in Borovets in Jan.That includes everything, Ski's, lessons, half board hotel and insurance.
That is nothing short of a bargin.

Yes the prices have increased and in particular for half term which to be honest has made it cost prohibitive for us.
The last 2 years we have been for around £1200 including ski packs but excluding food. Last year included breakfast. This year the equivalent holiday was going to cost us in excess of £1700.
I have to go on holiday during half term because I work in school so unfortunately it looks like skiing will not be something we can afford every year.

Yes the prices have increased and in particular for half term which to be honest has made it cost prohibitive for us.
The last 2 years we have been for around £1200 including ski packs but excluding food. Last year included breakfast. This year the equivalent holiday was going to cost us in excess of £1700.
I have to go on holiday during half term because I work in school so unfortunately it looks like skiing will not be something we can afford every year.
At the end of the day it is little to do with Bulgaria but more to do with the UK holiday companies cashing in on mugs like us who have to go when the schools are off. Simple economics of supply and demand at the end of the day.
We haven't costed anywhere else because Bulgaria is where we want to go.

Look at any other commodity in the World and tell me it has not gone up in price.

Food is NOT crap. Try the Morgavets in Pamporovo for example. Breakfast of 3 types of eggs, bacon, cereal, sausages, endless tea, coffee, juices, toast etc etc. Evening dinner of at least 4 different varieties, unlike 12 years ago when I would agree that the food was poor.
On the slopes the range of food is amazing, and nothing like the prices of France, or ...

I have skied in France, Andorra, Switzerland, and Austria and Bulgaria is a fraction of the cost of those countries. We constantly have postings wanting to know 'are there new lifts, are there new slopes, have the hotels improved and the answer is yes, new slopes and lifts are being developed in all resorts, the hoteliers have spent a fortune on upgrading rooms, and building new hotels. the steep slope down to the Malina has been levelled to improve access a new ski school depot has been built yet some expect prices to remain the same.
I have just checked out a ONE WEEK holiday at Kitzbuhel Austria with First Choice, without any ski pack included, B&B in a chalet accommodation would cost me £686. Add the ski pack, lift pass, and you'll get very little change from £1,000. I have booked 2 weeks half board at The Mourgavets, including 13 day lift pass for under £700. Thats almost a weeks free skiing compared to Austria.

Ah come on Pete I must have gone through at least £300 in 1 week including eating out and that is for 2 people!! Sounds a bit pricey to me mate I mean I could have gone to France and spent that in a day!
