Things are moving along nicely and with all your help things are a lot easier to take in.
I work outside all year and am in two minds on what jacket to buy. My partner thinks I should get a 80% duck down and 20% feathers 10,000mm Waterproof / 10,000g/m2 Breathability 100% Nylon Taffetta .
Is this a bit over the Top ? I have to admit it all makes no sense to me
I have been out in Bansko with just a shell jacket(100% waterproof but no lining) on but with a fleece, t-shirt and thermal layer on.
I have been out in Borovets with a Thermal layer and a all singing all dancing jacket. The first day I went with Coat, fleece, t shirt and thermals. I roasted!!
Both were great but if you are layered you can take something off.
So there is no real answer.
Today I have picked up a Brand New North Face ...
Layers Martin that's what you need!!

Today I have picked up a Brand New North Face Jacket from TK Maxx for £70 as they have put most of their ski stuff on clearance the last week or so.
Twobarefeet.co.uk have got a great sale on at the moment on O'Neill clothing I have clothed the wife and kids for jackets and trousers from there.
Layers is what I had in mind as this is what I do when working through out the winter, just was not sure how cold it would be there.
I think I will look for a lighter jacket , thank you for your help.
Dont make it complicated. TK max . Sports world etc all have decent jackets in stock. i bought my jacket off ebay for £50 and it will be quite adequate with a couple of layers like a teeshirt and fleece underneath. Have skied in canada in minus 32 degrees with only that many layers and had no problem.
dbut
I have a bonfire Sitka duck down jacket, last time I wore it to board was in January inn Canada at minus 25. All I had under it was a merino long sleeve top and a long sleeved tee. Was still very warm! Ive tried it in Bulgaria previously and nearly died, I now wear it for work in winter with just a polo shirt underneath!
There are lots of good jackets out there. I personally like gear from bonfire snowboarding.
I did order one from surfanic and I had to send it back as the zip fell off. We have got all the kids ski wear from there though and we do have to order a bit more, so I might try a different jacket from there. Looking at the snow reports though im thinking of brining shorts and T shirt
