Hi, if i had concerns i would not of taken my 10 yr old daughter, like most places if you try and speak a little of the language it goes a long way and most locals are receptive and friendly. crime is almost non existant and if going into samokov speak to your instructor who will arrange somthing for you, i have been back for the past 6/7 years now so that should say a lot. Somebody always will put a negative comment and that is there opinion the same for any holiday resort in the world. As long as the hotel is dry and warm. you have snow then anything else is bearable as you will ski all day and sleep at night.
