Dan, are you flying with Balkan from any airport other than Manchester or London? Got our tickets for mid March, still saying Bristol airport as booked, wondering if it might be moved. Sad

Will do, yep we found the snow room last year and were very disappointed in our hotel in Austria this year, that it was just a cold shower at the sauna, can't wait for that pleasure and pain, have a great trip yourself Dan. Very Happy

Bansko is hosting the Europa Cup down hill on the 7/8 March so the Kempinski is probably being used for VIP's. I stayed in it this week and enjoyed every minute of it.

ok update guys/gals, whats your thoughts?

They have basically said we got 2 options cancel for a refund..bearing in mind we go Saturday... or have there standard compensation of £40

I'm reluctant to cancel as its so close to our holiday and I really wanna go

Try to hang out for more compo, but if not, just go and take the £40= (assume that's each) and make the best of it.

re: Kemplinski - cancellation??

That's a tough one, I would check if I could book with Balkan, Neilson or First Choice for the Kempinski instead, or go & put up with and write a very strongly worded letter to their head office. We were downgraded once in Kenya recieved the standard compensation for change of hotel & the refund of price difference, I wrote to them and got more compensation. Having been to the Kempinski 2 weeks ago I wouldn't change the hotel for another one in the resort, it was perfect in every way.
