Thanks everybody for your advice regarding my daughter Kim (5). It seems a bit daft that our tour operator (Thomson)have no ski packages for kids under 8's.
In the brochure it says that the childs lift pass is only for kids age 8 - 12 inclusive. Further to your advice regarding expensive lift passes in the resort I am wondering whether to book my daughter a 8 - 13 yr old lift pass anyway.
It also says that the equipment hire is only for 8 - 12's seems a shame when we could get ...

Yes we've just been discussing the same thing on another thread, mate. Bleedin' annoying it is. My lads will be coming up 7, and I cant get one for him either.Shall we get up a petition?

I had this trouble for my nearly six year old, going to Borovets 2nd week of January.
Booked through Balkan holidays after being cheesed off by Crystal (Not flying from Newcastle). I contacted Balkan direct and they made arrangements with the ski school there, to allow my nearly six year old access into ski school. Hes been skiing before at France last year and I was not prepared to waste cash on a kindergarten where they play most of the day when i want him to learn to ski!

I had this trouble for my nearly six year old, going to Borovets 2nd week of January.
Booked through Balkan holidays after being cheesed off by Crystal (Not flying from Newcastle). I contacted Balkan direct and they made arrangements with the ski school there, to allow my nearly six year old access into ski school. Hes been skiing before at France last year and I was not prepared to waste cash on a kindergarten where they play most of the day when i want him to learn to ski!
Paid for the ski pack for him to go with his 7 year old sister, knowing he will probably be the smallest/youngest, but hey at least hes skied before so has an advantage!
First class support from Balkan up to now, never used them before but it looks promising for a return if the trip goes well.

we had our lad, 6, in the kindergarten for a few days then took him out with us.wasnt a problem, instructor said he didnt need a pass as he was too young.

Carl,Is that a fact that he was too young? Do the lift operators not request the lift pass ?
BTW Thomson are no help at all on this matter. I am beginning to wish I had booked thru another operator. Still never mind looking forward to a white Christmas. Does anybody know what sort of plug adaptor I will need for my tree ?

Don't know about Borovets or Pamps, but took my 6yo to Bansko this January with Balkan Holidays and got a free kindergarten place - she enjoyed it so much she is coming back 15 Jan - only 9 and a bit weeks away!!She is not a confident skier (yet) so was quite happy to play in the morning and ski after lunch - they looked after her from 9.30 until 4.00. This meant I could do my stuff and then just pick her up.

Dave You should be able to just "Push" him through on the lift they are not that strict and at the turnstile their ar no officials. I am sure know one would noticere: Kindergarten etc.
Hi Ian,I just read yor letter on the sight. Im going to borovets on the 8th of jan and am haveing the same trouble.
My son is 4 nearly 5 when we get there and he can ski.
Could you tell me how you went about and got your pacage so as i could try the same.

So can we actually put the kiddies in the kindergarten for a couple of days then take them with us? Thats one thing I didnt like; the fact the kids would be separate from us. We are going on a family holiday, and i dont like the thought of palming the kids off somewhere all day, i'd prefer us to ski together. My daughter is 10, but she's almost 5 foot. Son is 6, almost 4 foot.
And what sort of price do you pay for that?
