Surely Pamps has better prospect simply because it's not AS over developed. As for Pamps being 10 years behind Bansko, I've seen a huge difference in the last 2 years in Pamps, some good and some bad but mainly very good. Will just have to wait and see.
The problem is airport transfers - Pamps is a LONG tfr from what Ive seen online Sofia is 4-6 hrs away and Plovdiv well not many flights in there.
One thing which I think shows a bad aspect of Pamps is the web cam shot on this website - Ive seen a field of Brown mud for most of the last 4 weeks with only one snowfall (lasting a few days) making it white. Id highly suggest it gets posiioned better. Look at Bansko & Boro and the piste is white snow with no sign of brown mud.
Sofia to Bansko is 2-2.5 hrs by car too... On the Map Pamps looks much further away than Bansko.
Is it a different road or do you have to effectively pass bansko? If so then that time isnt correct. Remember its 90 miles to Bansko of which a good 20-25 miles is at very low speeds. Also assuming you stick to the speed limits of say an average of 90km/hr = 56mph then Sofia to bansko would take 1hr 36 mins however clearly to Average 56mph takes a hell of a lot to do. Even in the UK averaging that speed over just 90miles is difficult especially when the start is very much inner city traffic lights which kills average speed.
The RAC Quote the distance from Sofia to Bansko as 93 miles and the time should take 2.5hrs - I find the times the RAC state a very accurate indicator especially in the UK

i think the combination of webcams on snoweyehttp://www.snoweye.com/?page=bg&detail=pamporovo gives a very good representation of what you will be able to ski.
if it is brown at the bottom but still ok at midstation, skiing will be OK but limited to about 10KM of runs and if it is brown at the midstation, you will have the T bar blue to play on and the tow just below the tower and everything ele will need to be walked
