Lift Pass and Ski Hire - Bansko

We are going to bansko independently. What is the best way to arrange ski-hire and lift passes. We arrive on Saturday at 5pm and I have heard stories that there are huge queues on Sunday mornings Crying Also from this forum it would appear that it is more expensive to get the skis/passes in Bansko itself ?

We have booked ours through this site. We have been told that we will be met by a rep on Sunday am with our passes and vouchers for equipment.

I dont want to worry you but we were told by the man who is renting us our acommadation, that it is impossible to get equipment on a sunday unless you are with a tour op or have pre-booked.

There are alternatives to ULEN namely Intersport.

We booked today, but he was reluctant to take booking as he felt it was too late. Good luck, if you dont manage to pre book perhaps you could go straight there on Saturday.

Further to my earlier reply

Click on Bansko heading (orange banner at top of this page). Then scroll down menus on left hand side to where it says ski packages. It then gives you a schedule of costs. At the bottom is a link to the pre-booking site.

Cheers

Hi, We had a group skiing in Bansko from the 3rd - 10th Feb. We found getting the skis/boots was a nightmare. Be warned they only take cash in the ski/boot room! We were lucky as we were in the Kempenski hotel that was fantastic and next door to the gondola., We found that if we were at the gondola by 9am, we had no problems, get there at 9.30am, welcome to hell. They need alot more snow at the moment. I have been asked if I would go back. Sorry to say, NO chance. Bansko and the local area ...

I have been to far beeter ski resorts and intend to keep trying new resorts. However the skiing was fairly good. Marks out of 10. 6

Last year we got to Bansko at about 7pm and we stayed at the Avalon. James the owner bussed us up to the intersport shop and we arranged our hire there on Saturday night. If you are in a hotel it might be worth an e-mail to the owner to see if they can arrange something .
Mal. It is more expensive to get the passes in the resort, but you will have saved a load of cash by booking independently which will more than cover this. If you have a Nationwide credit card pay for your lift pass with ...
