had to reply to this even tho I'm a first time poster...
i'm a boarder just back from bansko (which I love)and have never had any problems getting equipment (quality may be varied) as there are so many shops flogging it near gondola. Locals are lovely, people very friendly, food is excellent and you can get a variety if you look hard enough, the mehanas are wonderful, (try a little mexican snowboarder haven called Ma Baker) and apres ski is excellent..just dotted all over the place, ...
