Yeh you didn't read what I said either, colin has read the same thing three times. But then I guess he has coroberation, the bus to finkenberg lift leaves twice an hour so no queing necessary, and besides that the run to the middle station is more challenging at the bottom if you are an able Red run feind. Avoid the HarriKiri, people die on it every year. If you haven't booked your ski's you can get some at Sunni ski school in finkenberg by the church for less than the other schools, ...

the guides were great. met at 10am came down at 3 with an hour for lunch each day. REMEMBER you need to get to finkenberg on the bus for this. but then no queues.
You can take the post bus (No. 4104) from Mayrhofen to Finkenberg don't have the timetable or cost but it isn't much and I think you can get a pass for the week from the post office or supermarket.

That's really useful because five of the guys going will require ski school and we weren't sure cheap / easy it would be to organise so will drop those guys an email!! Massive help Andrew Smile

Just out of interest, how long does it take to get to Finkenberg on the bus?

re: Mayrhofen Austria

not exactly sure but I'd say 10-15mins, a lot less than the queue at the bottom of the mayerhofen, enough of you get a minibus, they aren't that expensive. E10 for 10 in a minibus.

re: Mayrhofen Austria

the free ski bus leaves every 10mins from the skischool to the lift so get there before 9.30 to get your ski's save you a 10min uphill walk. the last bus is 10am I think. Sunday morning usually kids there. When you get to the top of the finken lift there is a resteraunt to your right and a slope between that leads down to the mid station of the finken lift, the T bar is on the left, get that, go up turn right follow the trek (keep your speed up as it goes left and up hill slightly but watch ...

Then a very simple blue the otherside of the down lift to the Mayerofen to get used to the snow after that. There are seven or eight reds to choose from the neext time.Play "Born to be wild" on your ipod as you go down.

re: Mayrhofen Austria

You can leave your ski's at the top of the finken under the right hand resteraunt you will see the cellar. But take a lock with you, hire skis get nicked in mayerhofen, and finkenberg to a lesser extent, if you take walking boots you can save sore legs, but should they close one lift, you may find it hard to retrieve them. So be warned. And remember you can't go on a drag lift without ski's so recce the first day with them.
