Ok, now that we have made Mickey moist, lets get back to why the majority of us are here...
Bulgaria has the potential to be a reasonable destination in comparison to lower level Austrian, Italian, Andoran and Southern French resorts... It does (read Times Traveller) represent good value and is perfect for 1st timers...
The busy periods are few, and those apart, all resorts, snow permitting, can provide enjoyable holidays...
Our bone of contention is that, it is not rocket science to organise better, to inform, both about existing conditions, lifts and planned upgrades and expansion...
Lets be honest, the only reason we have been so busy is that this was the only E Europeon destination with any snow at all, this has to be a positive for Bansko, but the chance to really work and catch the attention of visitors was lost, only to end up with disappointed faces (some mad as well including me !!)
It is always easy to concentrate on the negative, and as this forum well displays there will always be those who will highlight them. If i am considered an individual with vested interest then so be it, but my interest would soon deminish if i was to misinform. For us, we want Bansko to thrive, to deal with happy well served visitors, but this holiday period has to some extent reversed some peoples opinions, and to that end has ruined the positive work we had built previously.
We can try to gain some positives, but as previously stated it would be difficult for the period just passed...
I hope that in time the existing operator will realise that there is not a continuous stream of visitors willing to part with their hard earned, that visitors require something fairly rare in Bg, that is customer service. There is this assumption that the business is there purely for the business, and the customer represents something of an inconvenience... Personally i would like to see an international operator (Dopplemeyer ??) take over Bansko (was a rumour ??) and start to run it as it should be run..

I will always provide praise where it is due, and i have on many occasions where Bansko is concerned, but also i will condemn when in my mind opportunities to promote are missed, and blatent `poor service' is evident...

Do your worse Mickey, im sure you will have opinions... The differance perhaps between us is that you simply highlight shortcomings and complain, as i reluctantly accept the obvious with a hope that it will change in time with awareness (blatantly obvious ??) and business experience...

Boro higher than Bansko ?? not according to the piste maps, Bansko is 60m higher (top skiing).... splitting hairs hehehehe

Two weeks time we will be quiet again, no queues, and hopefully some more snow... unfortunately i feel things will not be forgotten regarding this Christmas/New year, and it will be to Banskos detriment... It could have been so differant
