Hello all,
Just an update on our hol so far.
Journey to resort.
Complete nightmare, departed Manchester on time on the Thomson flight. just before we were due to land the pilot anounced that Sofia airport had been closed due to the snow!. We flew on to a costal resort airport (Burgass I think). The bussed us to Sunny Beach and put us in an hotel overnight, then back to the airport flew to Sofia then to Boro on the Sunday, arriving at Bor 23.00 on the Sunday night. On the whole Thomsons did the best they could to help[ us. The other tour companies left the people sat in the airport untill the next morning then bussed them to the resort, which was 9hrs without a stop!
Hotel,
We r stopping at the Ela for the second time. Hotel/rooms good, food-not so good!

Snow conditions are great, as you would expext!

Resort, well this is our 3rd time here in Boro so we know the ropes. No one has tried to con us yet.
Beer is 4 Lev everywhere, exept for the Alpina 2.5 (or 1.5 @ Happry Hr)
We are getting 2+Lev/Pound at the bank in the Rila Hotel (thanx Fiona 4 the tip)
Ski Instructor-We couldn't get Ceko our regular as we were a day late. We hav a good instructor called Ivan who thinkz i'm 21! (not 39) He is working us hard and we have made so much progress.
Summary.
So far despite the delay which couldn't be helped the hol has been great, and a very positive experience, yes everything is a little more expensive, but a lot cheaper than the western european resorts!
Friends in our group are saying in the Rila and Iglika and both say everything is fine.
