I've stayed in the Iglika a few times and have found the buffet breakfast in the pocket to be a bit hit and miss. 1stly tried a couple of cheese rolls but as I don't carry a bag with me stuffed them in my pocket and found them frozen when lunch time came around. Then I tried hiding a couple of boiled eggs. I kind of forgot they were there and wondered what the disgusting smell was whilst I was in the Gondola. Spent the evening removing egg from the inside of my pocket. I take a couple of Peperamis (purchased in the UK)up with me these days.

You're kind of right there Ian. I've stayed in the Iglika or one of the chalets the past 5 seasons and the breakfast (food in general) hasn't improved. When I stay there my eating habits change. That said, it's the best value for money hotel in Borovets in my opinion and the cold buffet at breakfast does make for a good packed lunch if you can stop it from freezing and, as i've paid for it, i'm gonna eat it.
Now, after 9 holidays in the resort, we are staying in Samokov town which is where we intend to eat this year and I feel fairly certain that I will be reporting that as a money saving tip in future.
