Low temperatures are very likely overnight even in December, infact if the ground is frozen it adds to the effectiveness of cannon snow. The high range artificial snow is like porridge, the range to my knowledge in BG runs up to +3 and down to as low as you need. The problem in Bansko last season was the lack of early snow, we had very low temperatures, perhaps to low for snow...

The advantage of a cannon base is the duration of the cover, it will remain far longer than natural snow, and the ski road was witness last season, and as been noted allows fresh snow to add to cover immediately..
