We are in pamps from the 28th dec to the 7th of jan do the bulgarians go for it on new years eve or is it a let down, and if they do party where is the best place to be.
Apparently they do !
I remember reading somebodies report about an absolutely amazing night they had. The locals started firing pistols into the air at midnight !
Due to bulgaria's communist history, Christmas day is not the big event there as it is here. Instead, their big celebrations are new years eve. So if you are eating out you need to book asap to get a table.
We spent last year near Pamporovo, and it was fantastic. Of course it could have been because they joined the EU, but they had an awsome party. In the small city Smolyan they had famous artists and bands from bulgaria, and it was all free. For a little fee (4uero) we got access to a VIP area and we were partying with all the famous people. COOL!!!! Going back 27 december, so maybe we meet. Just look for 2 vikings from norway. :-)
