re: North Face

As a former ski shop employee whilst in California I can safely say that North Face gear is well worth the expense. The windstoppers do just that, the gore tex xcr jackets keep you very very dry and their fleece jackets are extremely warm. The idea of buying fake versions of the above is crazy. North Face is far more than just a label it's technical gear that will help keep you happy on the hill. Whilst in BG be very careful as so much North Face gear is fake. Rant over!

i have to say there would be no way i would wear fake stuff 1 , it looks a load of crap 2, its not going to be the same quality 3, will it do its job. so if you dont want to spend to much money buy a cheaper brand but not fake Razz

re: North Face

Sorry, I have both real North Face and fake stuff bought in Bulgaria, and the fake stuff is every bit as good as the real stuff. If you look at all your designer label clothes look at where they are actually made -- usually Turkey or Bulgaria!!!!!!!!!!! I am still wearing a North Face Jacket bought in Bulgaria 3 years ago. It's kept me well and warm & dry.

Jo, don't be sorry for a very valid point, as my mate says his £15 fake NF trousers are great at keeping him warm and dry at the snowdome, a punishing environment for gear..

re: North Face

My son bought a North Face jacket in Borovets in January. We knew it was a fake, but it is actually quite a good one. The fleece lining zips out, there are no loose threads, the stitching is good, and it is pretty waterproof - he has been wearing it in the Brecon Beacons and on Dartmoor doing Ten Tors training. We will spray it well with waterproof spray before the real thing though, just to be sure! It cost him about 80 lev in a smartish shop under the Royal Plaza apartments, going ...

re: North Face

I got mine because I have real problems with the cold and hadn't managed to find a jacket that kept me warm when temps went below zero. It was spot on - I was toasty warm despite plummetting temps, so I think it was money well spent. I also got some NF gloves - and it's the first year I haven't suffered with painful hands because of the cold. And no - I'm not a label snob!

re: North Face

LizziSnow, nobody's calling you a label snob. if you re-read my post, you will see that i said: if you want a decent bit of kit that will keep you dry and warm, it was worth spending the money on the real deal!! I'm sure some people on the other hand, who only want to walk down the high street in their north face gear, don't mind a bargain on some fake stuff.
