Actually, not. Most Alpine resorts will give you a daily special for around 10 euros - and it'll be good.

"...much cheaper than restaurants in the Alps..."

You must be kidding, mate. In Austria, I would have a main course and a drink in a lovely restaurant on the slopes, with great service, clean toilets and hot water running from the taps for no more than €7/8. And that is lovely food, too, not the sort of s***t you get served on the slopes in Bulgaria. I mean, who would want to go down for lunch and go up again after that?

I remember flying to Bulgaria once, sitting next to a lady who said she loved skiing in Bulgaria and thought it was the best place to ski. It turned out though that she had never been skiing anywhere else... Do I need to comment any further?

Must agree about the Alps.Went to Pamps and Courmayeur in 2007 and food prices were cheaper on the slopes in Italy.

Oh well - it certainly was way more expensive in Tignes and Val d'Isere. I guess if you know the area well there will always be the cheaper options but I'm basing it on one holiday in Tignes/Val and one holiday in BG. It was much much cheaper in BG

The "Alps" is a huge area and prices vary from country to country. France will be dearer than BG, Austria about the same and Italy cheaper

I found the food in BG generally poor and pricey
