when you leave Plovdiv, look at the side of the runway, the furthest side from the terminal buildings....tell me what you see...

there are about 50 Helicopter gunships all lined up....so behave or you`ll get shot down...

When you arrive every one heads for the toilets in the baggage reclaim area. But if you can wait there are toilets in the arrivals area. Small drink kiosk and duty free so get in resort before you leave.

Hi
At least you save money as there are no duty free shops to buy that last minute pressie!!

We had no delays,so have to admit that was good but as for security, I beeped going through the scanner, was asked if I had any mobiles or keys in my pocket, said no so was allowed to contiue without being searched.given the knives, knuckle dusters and various other weapons that were on sale in the Shopping centre of the Rila I thought security could have been better!!!

re: PLovdiv Airport

I have to say that compared to the chaos last year at the so called modern airport called gatwick, plovdiv was basic but very efficient. I took a cracking foto of the duty free shop in departures-it had no stock and was being used as the smoking room.
Only 23 sleeps and 12 shifts to go ! Booze

20 mins later the bus stopped. And turned around. It appeared we had left a hotels worth of pasengers behind. Whoops.

Half an hour alter we were back on the road. But whats this, up a slightly steep gradient in thick snow the wheels started spinning. Driver and pasengers took mats out and put them under wheels. Eventually got going.

Twenty minutes from Plovdiv and race against clock now to get to airport. Driver puts foot down through suburbs and... gets stopped by police for speeding! Could it get any worse?

Thankfully not, but a close shave.Arrive at the airport, and security gates are opened. Coach goes on to runway (I kid you not) and pulls up next to plane.

Passengers get off one at a time. One guard checks passport, other puts baggage in hold. We just make it.

I love Bulgaria
