How's your daughter now hilly?

I hope she makes a speedy recovery.

Thanks for all the info. It's sounding good. Off to Borovets on Saturday and looking at the forecast we'll need to wrap up warm there as well! Hilly, sorry about your daughters leg, hope it mends well. Roll on that first drink in the Titanic.

If you want a fairly cheap alternative to BG in Italy, try Livigno, lots of lovely cruising blues and reds, modern lift system, nice lively town, loads of good bars and restaurants.
Only downside is a 4 hour transfer from any airport, but having done Pamps from Sofia a number of times it was OK for us.

Have to agree with the comments on here, we stayed at La Rosiere last year and skied across to La Thuile, it was excellent, varied runs for all types of skiers no queues ever, I have been a regular to pamps for 15 years upto then, and have never been back to pamps since going to La Rosiere, prices are similar, service is better, snow is much better in France and Italy, certainly would help if the Bulgarians took a leaf out of their book, so they know what they should be offering these days.

Been to La Thuile 3 times now. Love it there.
We went just before Xmas and had the top slopes to ourselves.
The locals told us it gets rammed twice a year, at Xmas New Year week and the Feb half term.
Aso worth a note that we drove there last year. I live in South London and it was a 12 hour journey door to door. Sounds daunting but will do it again as the trip is broken up by the tunnel crossing and stopping as much as you like on the way. It works out about 8 hours door to door if we ...

This may sound a really daft question, but if you ski into France from Italy or vice versa, do you need a passport with you?
