Pamporovo - take a torch!

Teabags (hotel ones - very weak), walking boots (paths slippery), earplugs (in case you're put close to a bar - in my instance Daks Bar!), bottle opener (for your night cap glass of vino), large towel if you've got a swimming pool (tiny ones supplied by pool attendant) and, some advice from an old timer there, take a bottle of hand cream/moisturiser for the cleaner as part of the tip, this is expensive in Bulgaria and is much appreciated by staff.

The cleaners we had at the Hotel Snejanka were fantastic (general opinion). This is a very good warm and comfortable hotel with lashings of hot water for bathing.

We've just got back from a week in the Malina Chalets. We are all experienced skiers and took our own equipment. We wpould consider returning next year because we thought the people were lovely and the skiing was very attractive, although limited. What concerns us is the unreliability of the electricity, we were left in the dark and cold for hours with no offer of even a candle, and the lifts didn't work half the time. I understand that the electrical problems may be unusual but the lifts ...
