A barmitzvah Confused Confused Confused

Sounds like a piss up to me, or some resort I've never heard of. Either way it should be embarked on with extreme caution by the sounds of it.

Pamps Pete Cool

(No explanations please I know what it really means, only winding Judith up.)

Hi

I aggree with most here. Experience serious skiers may feel theres not enougth in pamps. but it is sold as a beginners / intermediate resort. And as we all know, its nots just about the sking is it? Theres so much more, which why im going back back for the 3rd time next year.

My next point.... there are big changes due in pamps in the comiing seasons. There are plans afoot to build a cable car link to nearby peaks (cant remember which one) and create new runs.

Banskos had its makeover (cause its more acessable from sofia) in the past year so nows its Pamporovos turn. This info came from our ski instructor (a reliable source).

Has anybody heard anything else about this?

re: Pamporovo - wouldn't recommend it

two /three years of develpment coming at borovets, whole new area and a valley run, new lifts and lifts linking top of gondola to the avalanche area, all in all some 30me due to be spent. I dont regard myself as an expert skier, i reserve that for locals, and i did fail my instructors test (bastards lol) but i still find the runs at borovets challenging but then i fall into the 'if you dont fall over your not trying hard enough' group. took me a day and a half to master multiple helicopters. ...

Ive heard a few moans about the limited pistes at borovets, but im not sure that its not down to laziness, so what if a red turns in to a black, the only real black as far as im concerned is down to the middle station of the gondola, the others are too wide to be regarded as real blacks.....now if you shoot them that a differant matter. This year loads of people gave up because of the ice, but if you master those conditionds most of europe will be a piece of p**s.
The main advantage of bulgaria apart from the price is that they are considerably less 'Anally retentive' than some other countries. well all just have to agree to disagree

Actually, having been to a barmitzvah party this weekend, there was rather a lot of falling down water consumed.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Steve here (and I'm used to Avimore and Glenshee with their limited slopes)

Hi there

It's very much a personal thing with Pamps, I am going back for the second time, have been to the busy resorts but Pamps is ok for me.

From what I understand Bansko will continue with the development it is already well and truly in, and with around €20million already spent modernising the resort, cannot wait to go on March 6.

I understand that the current development is only the tip of the iceberg (pardon the pun!) for what the people at Bansko believe will create the number one Bulgarian resort

Lets just hope there are some people in the resort at the same time that like to have a quiet party - heard it is much quieter than the other major resorts in Bulgaria, but the skiing and ski school standard is quality

re: Pamporovo - wouldn't recommend it

sorri to hear you didnt enjoy pamporovo as much as us die hards have done for the past 5years.as pamp.pete says a lot is to do with meeting old friends as skiing.in saying that at times the snow is dodgy but we have always managed to ski all day and party all nite long!!!! enjoy your skiing next year whatever the resort.
