Pamporovo Kindergarden

Hi - we have 2 girls aged 7 and 10, and been told that the youngest will have to go into kindergarden as she is too young for ski school. We are all first timers and would like her to learn to ski with us if possible.Anyone have any advice or comments that may help.
Thanks

My ski instructor at Xmas in Pamps was surprised that I had not booked any lessons for my 6 year old dsughter and said I should do it on my next visit.

Although the tour operators do not sell the lessons you can book them in resort.

We will be trying this in Feb when are you going ?

We are going in March to the Malinas Chalets.

Did your daughter go to the kindergarden and if so did she enjoy it?

re: Pamporovo Kindergarden

Should we book the ski school here or wait until we get there?

If so is their a choice of school?

If you can book the ski school do it here. If not ask when you get there. Ask your ski instuctor to help then most likely she will end up in your class. See earlier postings on this topic regarding kids going together away from the adults. ( seems like sound advice to me)

My daughter went to kindergarten and loved it after the first day. They are always a bit edgy on the first day aren't they ? We will try to get her to ski lessons next time tho.

I thought it might be a good idea to ...

I thought it might be a good idea to alternate pick up times with your partner if your little one is in kindergarten 'cos it's a long day for the kids from 9 till 4 :30 we went together to collect our daugter early at about 3 .30 pm and both missed out on bits of important first time ski lessons. Thats because we had a good ski instructor who didn't mind staying with us till 4 .30 pm.

re: Pamporovo Kindergarden

We had a family in our ski class last year - 2 x parents, a 13 year old and a 6 year old they said was 7 so she could join the class.

Our instructor spent most of the time helping the little one than concentrating on the adult members of the class who were struggling so much so that we lost 2 adults from the group after 4 days.

Whilst it's great for you to be as a family, it's a very long day for the little one and is it really fair to the rest of the class?

Fair comment Judith. I think it could also go the other way though.

The best idea I saw was to see if you can get the little one into a little ones group and spend the first half day with them to settle them in.Then meet up at lunchtime each day after that. If they have progressed you can ski with them after lessons have finished.

Going by the state of my knees after 5 days skiing I would also think that the little ones would be cream crackered after a full days skiing. Mind you they ...

In the kindergarten they get to ski in the morning then go for lunch then ski in the afternoon then go and play. I saw the kindergaten group a few times on the nursery slopes while I was there and they were having a ball !!

re: Pamporovo Kindergarden

What time do the lessons finish?

I wanted to have Nick(wifey) and I together and the 2 girls together (different groups) then meet up after lessons.

The tour operator said at 7 she was too young.

It sounds like I should wait until we get there to book ski school.

The price from here is £99 for adults and £66 for the girls for lessons, passes and ski's etc, is it more expensive at the resort ?

Ps thanks for the advice so far.
