Pamporovo was closed - now open.

Torrential rain has turned the mountain into and ideal location for white water rafting, all lifts are currently close, fantastic start to holidays! Haha

How's it looking now? Hard to tell on webcams but looks like it may be snowing again?

Slight snow shower, rain has eased, however the damage is pretty much done I think, crystal ski suggested they will be getting the paperwork we need together for insurances.

Does not sound good.. I'm sure strong winds have kept the lifts from opening though. There goes my good mood in the waiting game for Saturday.

We was devestated when we arrived and it was hammering down with rain, there is still some snow around the town, so we can hope, a few optimists are saying snow tonight too, yes that's right the storm closed the mountain, rain I ain't seen so heavily persistent all day from last night, even at peak it was reported as rain, and as the cloud level was so low and lightening had struck, it was going to be a risk on lifts anyway.

Are Crystal ski preparing paperwork for just today or the week ahead? Headed there next Saturday and praying to the snow gods as we speak!!

They are not making any solid plans until reports come in from the mountain, however she said there base in Austria is looking at contingency plans in the event its unsuitable to ski

Oh mate, I feel truly gutted for you, that totally sucks! Crazy how Pamporovo got a wash out and Boro just dumped with snow, guess it's an altitude thing. Would crystal be able to send you to another resort if it's unskiable?

crystal are supposed to do everything possible to get you skiing . i would have thought a transfer to borovets or bansko would be possible . bansko has loads of capacity in it's hotels . has to be worth at least posing the question with the rep .

Webcams look as if it is snowing now (at least at Yazovira) and the piste bashers are out at studenets pushing white stuff around, so fingers crossed.
