In the middle of my stay in Pamps, we arrived Sunday night - thought I'd update you all as to conditions, first impressions etc, full report next week

I've had tonsillitus since Friday and despite taking prescribed anti biotics from the UK it has managed to get worse resulting in a trip to the doctors on Tuesday to see if they could help out. The guy was a star and has started me on an intensive course of anti bio's with tablets and pills and anti septic pills so despite having a day's rest today, the rest of the hol I should be able to carry on my snowboarding course.

Location is beautiful, there is just about enough snow on the mountain despite there being no fresh falls between the weekend and Tuesday night. This is our first time and it hasnt really been cold. On the mountain we didnt need our thermals or a jumper. T shirts, jacket and salopettes were fine.

Perelik - room is nice, very warm. Food is ok, its free and is generally buffet food so anything you dont want do take! We've found the soup and the desserts generally the nicest although the salad is good. Service is great, people are very helpful. Food - instead of being traditional Bulgarian meals they seem to try to cater for UK people but dont quite get there so its kind of a mix match. I think it would be better to leave it as local food so we can try traditional meals etc. Other hotels sound similar although I think have a better selection of foods (Pamporovo Hotel / Hotel Prespa).

Hotel Pamporovo does seem a superior hotel from the outside, if I came back I would try to stay here or maybe one of the huts on the mountain

Just realised the snow shack is on the mountain so I will have to buy my new gloves tomorow - i have some cream eggs

Cheers IMT. It snowed alittle while we were boarding yesterday, not a lot but we could see it snowing up the mountain later in the evening. Fingers crossed!! There was quite a lot of icey bits around hopefully these will be re-snowed now!

Forgot to mention - We nearly shat ourselves using the chair lift (first timers) no. 5 the 3 seater. We got on and werent told and didnt realise you can pull the barrier down to stop you falling out. Went all the way to the top holding on for our lives 8/ On the way down I got in a lift on my own - whatever you do, sit in the middle only. I sat on the side and it made is rock from side to side
