Can anyone explain why, if the snow is as non-existent as some posts are claiming, the live Snowshack web cam shows a pretty good covering - at the BOTTOM of the mountain?
In Feb 07, when the snow was poor (although still skiable at the top), this area was just mud...
I was thinking exactly the same thing when I looked at it the other day .....I remember last year just before I went out for half term the bottom being mud and still got in a pretty good weeks skiing. Something doesn't add up
The picture is very misleading. I spoke to Gary about this yesterday and he said that it is very thin and will soon be showing bare patches if there is no new snow soon.
I'm still not convinced - you can even see snow on the roofs, and that's usually the first to go. It was definitely all grass when we were there in 07.
