Heading to Pamps for 1st time on the 28th Jan, not been skiing due to family comitments for 4 years, keeping an eye on the weather and reading reports on this board sounds like it could be a memorable week, if i can still remember how to ski!! Staying at the Snezhanka Hotel, originaly booked into Pamporovo Hotel but tour operator advised change, what is the hotel like??.

Hi Pat
I have a guide to Pamporovo which is tailored around guests staying in Snezhanka which I am more than happy to mail to you. If you click on my name and drop me an e-mail I'll send it to you.

Have stayed in Snezhanka for last 6 years and find it very comfortable. The staff even remember us from year to year. Bus to slopes stops outside and its only 50 yards to main complex if you want the nightlife. Food is fine and if you find it too cold there is a microwave. You can always find something on the buffet style evening meal to eat. Nice leather sofas to relax after a hard days skiing! Enjoy your trip!

re: Pamps

Hi Pat,

Snejanka is well positioned and is one of the better choices of hotels, friendlier staff than Pamporovo hotel and better location. You could not have picked a better year to ski, best ski conditions in over 20 years and more snow is forecast, it snowed off and on today, over 2 metres already, well thanks to my snow dance. Gloria Mar is a good place to eat also, nice atmosphere.

Towards the weekend we will see low pressure system is moving in very quickly. Sunday , temperatures will rise again slightly. There are slight temperature changes daily until Friday evening where it is predicted serious snow fall until at least Wednesday (25th). Saturday we could see at least 40 or 50cm, Sunday at least 50 to 60cm with Monday and Tuesday getting a minimum of 30cm each day. Saturday remains a little uncertain , temperatures may be a little high and produce rain at lower levels, but It is a little early to ascertain. Holiday makers heading out on the 21st should take extreme caution, driving in these conditions is not advisable, the amount of snow will lie heavy on trees and cause them to fall in high numbers, snow clearing machines will have trouble passing these obstacles, roads will be dangerous for a while, only drive if you absolutely have to, four wheel drives only are recommended. Please ensure to have snow chains, snow tyres, blankets and food and water in your vehicle and a fully charged mobile telephone.

Airport transfers may take longer, so please remain patient and understanding.

re: Pamps

Thanks for the update Amanda. Friends going out on the 20th but hopefully they will arrive before the serious snow falls!
Can you tell me if the Terraca at the mid station is open during the evenings? Have an apartment at the mid station so would be good to find restaurants that are open in the evening just in case the car can't be used.
Thanks Nina

re: Pamps

Hi Nina,

it normally closes about 7pm, Danma is cheap to eat and drink, Glorai Mar is a good place to eat and drink, the barbacue next to Morgevets hotel is fine, I would never eat at the white house, watering drinks down, short measure, lots of cases of food poisoning, rude owner, high prices. Some Syolyan restuarant transfer guests for free, we do if we are not full, also there are a few others that do the same, email for more details. In short the only restaurant to avoid is the White ...

In short the only restaurant to avoid is the White house. Chevemeto is good local food and has entertainment but not every night.
