Passport Expiring

Going to Borovets on the 30th Dec, never mind the flipping snow, my passport expires in March, I have read somewhere that when visiting Bulgaria your passport needs to be valid for 6months after your return, though cant find it anywhere else. Does anyone know if this is correct? if it is i better get a hurry on.

cheers

re: Passport Expiring

You will find that its a basic requirment that there is at 6 months remaining on your passport when traveling abroad and re-entering the UK.

re: Passport Expiring

That is correct.

You need a MINIMUM of six months left on your passport from your return date. You will need to renew yours.

re: Passport Expiring

Why don't you query it with your local travel agent? In my experience anyway if you leave it until renewal time the price will have gone up again. My partner recently renewed his and did not use the Post office check and send he just posted it himself. His new passport arrived by courier 1 week later.

re: Passport Expiring

Have just renewed ours, did it on the "check & send" service through the post office at £7.00, it was back within 6 days.

However do have a look at the link below from the passport office website released on 16 November:

re: Passport Expiring

There is no need to query it with anyone Nicky - IT MUST HAVE 6 MONTHS ON IT FROM THE RETURN DATE.

These are the terms and conditions as laid down by the Bulgarian Government.

I rang the passport office a number of years ago when mine only had a few months left and was informed you should always have 6 months left on it..... I now call it the 9 and half year passport.....
i would def. renew it.

re: Passport Expiring

Yep, it is a requirement to have 6 months left on it and like everyone else has said just get on it and get it renewed......

Why on earth does the passport office have to make it difficult why not just expire the passport earlier? Exclamation
