I think this is a ludicrous idea. We always go in term time as its cheaper and quieter. I personally wouldn't want to go when all the schools are closed as there are too many kids for my liking. We find better service when its quieter. This £100 is a fine the government are going to impose. I hope this applies to all the families who go on "cultural or religious" trips for 4-6 weeks at a time to India or Pakistan which happens a lot here in Bradford!!!!!!!!!

Can we as parents impose a fine when teachers take "Training Days" and my child is not being taught!!!!!!!!!!!!

My employers don't like us to take holidays at peak times as we are often busy at this time and everyone who wanted the same weeks would be falling out.

Hi Guys

I agree with all of you, why should we parents be penalised for trying to save a fair bit of money. It should be the travels agents or tour operators who should be fined for putting the prices up in school holidays.

I take my 2 girls out of school for 2 separate holidays a year, I don't usually have any problems. We will be in Pamp the week before half term in February. Even though I have children I don't think I could cope with a holiday in term time.
