Wow!... Looks brilliant!... What's wrong with the tour operators!... Only 90 mins away from Pamps and they're not using it? Preferring to go to Sofia with a 4 hour transfer?Balkan's ski 2010/11 available to book, but still only Sofia!... Absolutely insane!

Why is it insane?
Transfers from Sofia to:
Borovets: 1hour
Bansko: 2 hours 30 mins
Pamporovo: 3 hours
Transfers from Plovdiv:
Borovets: 2hours 30 mins
Bansko: 3-4 hours (depending on route)
Pamporovo: 1 hour 30mins
As the majority of clients prefer Bansko and Borovets, why would the operators want to inconvenience them, to suit the minority that still going to Pamorovo?

I'm not suggesting that tour operators should stop flying to Sofia and redirect everything to Plovdiv?.. Far from it they should use both.
I have been going to Bulgaria for 20 years to both Pamps and Boro. In the past tour operators flew to both Plovdiv and Sofia. If I was going to Pamps I'd use the flight to Plovdiv, if Boro Sofia!... Simple. However, last year all the tour operators stopped using Plovdiv!... That's what's insane!
By the way Sofia to Pamps is not 3 hours as ...

Looks absolutely fab! We had a nightmare journey last year to go to pamps, took us 21hrs to get to resort, we were supposed to fly from our local airport(which was changed nearer the day) to fly to plovdiv, detour to burgas, then flew to sofia and then that awful coach ride to pamps........put me off going again, but if almost guaranteed plovdiv there would be no hesitation to go back

Going to Bansko from Dublin on 6th March with Neilson/Panorama. Flying into Plovdiv, not looking forward to 4 hour transfer, Sofia definitely better for Bansko!re: Pictures Of The New Plovdiv Airport
it is as good inside as the pictures shows out.still small but ideal to handle a flight every hour.certainly alot more impressive than the old one.
it has a small duty free shop

Do you think Pamparovo gets enough tourists from the uk to put a flight specificly to make the transfer time shorter ?i dont!
Outside half term flights to Bulgaria ski resorts are easy to find with all the major operators so to add another flight would be insane.

Plovdiv is dropping its airport taxes 3 times lower than sofia from 1st of april.. to attract charter flights - so should work!re: Pictures Of The New Plovdiv Airport
