I have written to Balkan holidays concerning the use of Plovdiv for Pamporovo customers next year.
A major reason why Pamporovo has lost so many tourists is for this very reason. We have read on here how many people are just not prepared to endure the 4 hour trek from Sofia. Up until Plovdiv closed it regularly had enough Pamporovo customers to justify it's use - so lets see if I get a reply and more importantly what their response is.
It's not my problem - I am happy to travel from Sofia - but would prefer not to arrive in Pamporovo at 2am in the morning, nor do I particularly relish a 4am pick up.
The problem is with the hundreds of people who will not put up with these unsociable times and that is having a major effect on Pamporovo's future.
Well said Pete!... The problem is with people on here is they don't understand that if numbers don't pick up at Pamps the shops, bars and restuarants will continue to close. This will then filter through to Hotels, lifts, ski runs, piste maitainance etc etc!
So want them to start flying in to Plovdiv again been to all 3 resorts did Borovets this year purely due to transfer times, but having been to all 3 want to go to Pamps next year and onwards....
