re: Plovdiv airport

BVery much doubt it Howard, Plovdiv is as basic as it comes and has virtually no duty free facilities at all.

I seriously doubt it. Have you been to Plovdiv? It's, errrmmmm basic. The bonus of it though is, because it's small and used very little, you don't get mucked about with other flights. I've only ever been there once, but we were whisked through all the usual formalities. Once we got airside, there was a little bar/cafe, and a small duty free shop. The duty free shop took sterling, and even gave us change in sterling !!, and it was very cheap. 200 bensons for about £7 !!

We were there last year, but I was paying cash, I can't remember if they took credit cards. Thanks merry Christmas

The only time we were able to pay for anything by credit card was for car hire best to take sterling and change it in banks.

Last season I found Plovdiv airport to be very basic, and nothing more than a small building to wait to board your plane. It reminded me very much of a bus station in the UK with even fewer experience features.

There was a couple of small shops in the airport which looked to sell a range of confectionary items, but to say these were limited is to say the least.

As other users of here have commented, what is good about Plovdiv is that it is small, you do board your aircraft ...

I actually found someone in the airport who came from the same small Yorkshire town as myself!!

Just one of the many quiant offerings of Bulgaria.
