Queues in Bansko

just a heads up, for any one in Bansko this week the queue for the gondola in the morning was past the car park entrance and up the road, we had to wait for at least an hour before we even got into the station.
probably due to the ski racing and its UK half term so be warned Booze

Hey Nick what time was this? We are coming to Bansko on the 12th March and have been a bit scared by people complaining about long queues, especially as we have to go and collect our ski equipment in the morning from the hire shop - im hoping though, that it wont be so much of an issue in March.

This is half term, not unusual in any resort, especially when kids are committed to attend their classes at 10.00am.
Actually in our opinion the queues are not as big as expected, maybe the knowledge that the world cup is around the corner has put off many visiting.
There will be little problem in March Wink
By the way, snows quite good Razz

It wont be too much of an issue mid march although it will have peaks and troughs. Drag yourself out of bed early and enjoy the best skiing in the early morning and you should have no issue.

We were at the gondola at 08:30 and the queue was at least 100yds long, however in march with all the kids at school and no world cup here i think it will be fine. it snowed all day yesterday and this morning so the skiing is very good, the only down side is that some of the black and red runs are closed due to the world cup so you have a lot of traffic on he blues.

Im starting later tomorrow after a good English so by 11:00 we should be able to walk straight into the gondola. Very Happy

Thanks for the advice everyone. We have booked a package with Thomson/Crystal and have lessons starting at 10, so was only worried about having breakfast, getting equipment and getting up to the top all in time for when they start! Hopefully it will not be a problem. Cant wait to go! Good to hear its snowing :-)

Every day this week we have been in the gondela queue from 8.15am latest & 8am earliest.

Best morning was inside building bottom the stairs next morning at the enterence doors. Today well where the free buses are parked. That said we were on the slopes for 9am.

Notices a few trying to push in and I blocked some try kept saying dobra etc. But when I asked where is the season pass? They say nothing I shrug and block. Also seen some sneaky folk "need the toilet" then try to cut in at ...

Notices a few trying to push in and I blocked some try kept saying dobra etc. But when I asked where is the season pass? They say nothing I shrug and block. Also seen some sneaky folk "need the toilet" then try to cut in at the bottom of the stairs. However praise to ulen staff I saw some convincing people try to get in and they were having none of it - one got cash out ... Read between the lines but fair play that made no difference back of the queue.

Lifts are much improved the new 6man is much quicker speed of lift plus clearly capacity and the exit of that lift is now easy rather than a ratrace.

Snow has been great. Woken up to a snow covered bansko and dumping in village conditions every day so far great.

Been pushing myself hard this week am a "level4 " trying to get to 5 so my knees thighs and anckles are in bits but boy is this snow so much easier to ski on than snow cannon stuff.
Anyway don't worry about the queue there are free buses plus it's not a long wait really.

Oh I kep finding the plateau blues so hard seems to be so much deep snow and well guess lack of my skills. Need to try harder.
