Random question....Buying socks in BG

been hunting for ski socks and needing to buy enough pairs to last the week seems to be adding up to really rather expensive when I can only find them for about £6 a pop and none of the better value shops i.e tescos/tk maxx have much ski stuff any more.

Would I be better off borrowing some of my bf's ski socks for the first day and then buying socks out there rather than spending loads money before I go? Wil they be any cheaper in bulgaria or is it not worth waiting for.

To be honest the skis socks in BG are cheap and nasty, wont last long. £6 a pop isnt expensive for decent ski socks. If there is a decathalon near you, try there

re: Random question....Buying socks in BG

FiFi probably one of the cheapest places I've found is Decathalon Sports, if there's one near you. I have seen them for sale in Boro but sorry, didn't take note of prices.

Most ski socks seem to be tube style so b/f's should fit you. The rooms are always very warm, so you could wash them out and they'd be dry the next morning. Can you not beg and borrow Question Football socks, especially if they have padded soles, can do the job, surely you know some footballers Question Very Happy Very Happy

thanks for responses Smile

r.e cheap and nastyness - think most of the ones Ive looked at dont appear great quality and in truth dont want to spend a massive fortune. the ones which were nice were about £11!

unfortunately dont have any of the shops near me which have been mentioned, only the usual outdoorsy type shops (blacks, oswald bailey etc) which dont have a lot left there now.

think will try and beg most of what i need lol (though the bf's ski socks are all pretty old so I'm not ...

Ive been skiing for 36 years, and have never had any problems using ordinary socks. You can buy almost anything, but do you really need it all?
Confused
