Cheers mate I've already looked at a few on line options since posting looks just right for us,though as we were in Romania at New Year its next season I'm looking at
I would say make sure the hotel is within walking distance of lifts and town center and a nice thing is blue runs go from the top of the mountain back to Sportina area you can take the reds and keep meeting up going down the hill.
We went to Soldeu Andorra for new year and i have to say it was absolutley Fantastic. We had private lessons 2 hrs for 4 days for the same price as a weeks ski school tuition in Bulgaria. It was with an English female instuctor and she got 2 of the worst skiers ever, skiing with confidence on some quite testing runs. The average meal price was 6 - 10 Euro and a pint was 4 euro but there was a happy hour in bars from 4.30 -10.30 so we never paid the full price. The transfer was 3 hours bit ...

The transfer was 3 hours bit of a drag but it was well worth it. If we had believed all we had read before going we wouldnt have boarded the plane, advice is fine but you really have to go and make up your own mind.

waterski pete, sorry for the delay in answering was busy watching Hartlepool get knocked out of the cup yesterday. We weny with Neilson/airtours on an all inclusive which is quite a bargain price wise especially out of peak times.snacks, beers, soft drinks were about£1,defo no rip offs going on on the slopes,or at the bottom where there were lots of snack bars and places to drink.

We stayed at the Poiana one of three under the same ownership right at the bottom of the slopes so there is no trekking to the slopes, just straight out of the door.
rooms were large, warm and comfortable,we even had a bath, food was ok,there was always a decent buffet for dinner and free drinks served with it.
the skiing is a bit limited and as the slopes were icy the beginners group didnt venture far up the mountain.
For a mixed group of social skiers it has a bit for everyone but advanced skiers would soon be bored.
Ther are two cable cars and a modern gondola, the rest are a button lifts, but were easy to use even Aly,my nervous other half coped with them.
It is very busy at Xmas/new year It seems it is the place to be seen for famous/rich locals.
I preferred the general atmosphere all round to Pamps where I have been three times but given decent snow Pamps has the edge on runs for beginners and improvers.
hope this helps,I wouldnt put anyone off going there
