re: SLOW BOARD

Like I have said before I buy out in Bulgaria, I can go to outlets in Varna and get socks 5 pairs for 2lev. ladies Trainer socks, 10 pairs 2 lev. Track suit bottoms 4 Lev, these are just some examples, do not pay the airlines, give the local Bulgarian shopkeepers a treat. F.V.

Agree FV which is why I'm trying to raise cash -- it will go 10 times further in Bulgaria. Having said that ANY help of ANY description is just brilliant! Razz

re: SLOW BOARD

same here Pete, Balkan were having none of it.

I'm stuffing my board bag as they don't weigh them and taking less clothes for my self.

Next time I might nip into Smolyan and see what I can buy, Ta FV for the tip.

re: SLOW BOARD

Forest Nooky, You need to find out where the locals buy, much cheaper than the normal shops. I go to a little hideout in Varna, where the Gypsies buy t/shirts for 2 lev and flog them to you outside K.F.C. in Varna for 10 Lev. Happy Hunting. F.V.

with it being a charitable cause perhaps someone should contact the tour operators in writing and explain the situation and ask for help on an official basis rather than everyone calling on an independant basis, the companies perhaps thinking that holidaymakers are just trying to get away with excess baggage, imagine it was your company and someone called you asking for help and let you take more than your entitlement without an explanation

Im sure if things were presented in the appropriate way then these companies may be a little more forthcoming.

Just a thought..........................

I sent Balkan an e-mail together with a link to the Orphanage site. Didn't even merit a response.

re: SLOW BOARD

Nick, things were fine until 11/9 in U.S.A. then it went haywire, I belong to a well known Church/Charity and always take my Bible and a load of Kids Comics produced by my Church, I even had to get a signed letter on headed paper stating , they were not for propaganda Purpose, and yes this was Balkan, and I had to have them in my hand luggage for inspection if required. Like I have said, don't pay the Airlines, give the locals your cash. F.V.
