To note: stones have been removed, new drainage system has been implemented and seeding (7 types apparently!!) is on all slopes to ensure better grass which will help with the leveling and ensure longevity of snow as it will stick to the runs better.
NIGHT SKIING
# Top part of Cherveno Zname AND Martinovi Baraki AND Rotata will now all have lights and be included in the Night Skiing lift pass.
YASTREBETS
# Yastrebets 1 will have cannons however this is budgeted and planned for SUMMER 2015, NOT THIS SEASON
# Yastrebets 2 & 3 will continue to be covered by cannons
MARKUDJIK
No decisions have currently been made for future plans.
Sorry for the delay but we wanted to ensure that we could pass on accurate information especially as rumours fly very quickly round here and on many forums from workers and guests!
I also want to say well done to Borosport for heeding comments and spending the summer doing so much work to improve the resort.

p.s Don't shoot the messenger, I am just telling the truth...
thanks for the update, as i'm really trying to persuade the others i go with to go back to borovets, but they keep choosing bansko due to the majority of runs being covered by snow cannons... so this news sounds really promising to me - will they have the water facilities to cope with the extra snow cannons, or will they just end up having them and not being able to use them though?
And also, I can't remember too much as my last visit was back in 2010 due to lack of snow cannons... but sitnyakavo 1 & 2 end up onto the green skiway, so will some of the skiway be covered with snow cannons to allow you to get back down to the other runs, or will the snow cannons only cover say half way of the runs before they cut off back to the main runs?
I was over there in the summer, and the snow cannons went down the green and stopped before the blue turning left along the pathway / cut through to the rila runs. Sitnyakavo 3 was being cannoned completely but, sitnyakovo 2 which is under the chair only cannoned to the path going across not all way down. Unless there have been any changes.
Thanks for the info... still a bit confused... but either way the news of more snow cannons allowed me to persuade the rest of us, and now off to borovets again... 5 years later!
let's hope the snow is good, as skiing on rocks certainly wasn't that fun back then, and especially as i have my own ski gear now!!
Sorry for the double post... but i decided to e-mail borovets and this was the reply

Borovets will welcome the coming winter season, ready for any weather! The investments for Winter 2014/2015 are concentrated in new system for artificial snow. The purpose is to cover more ski runs with different level of difficulty, but especially suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers. The resort will double the number of facilities for artificial snow, increasing it from 70 to 150 for Winter 2014/2015 and covering an area of 460 acres. All new snow cannons will be deployed mainly in the ski center "Sitnyakovo" - with slopes suitable for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. Ski runs that will have new snow canons for the next season are:
Ski path "Sitnyakovo Palace" - bottom (suitable for beginners)
Ski run "Sitnyakovo 3" (light / medium)
Ski run "Sitnyakovo 1" (light) - in the area between tracks "Sitnyakovo 2" and "Cherveno zname"
Ski run "Sitnyakovo 4" (suitable for advanced)
The ski connection between "Sitnyakovo 1" and "3 Sitnyakovo"
The ski connection between final ski run "Yastrebetz 1" and lower station "Yastrebetz" gondola.
Also there will be two more slopes for night skiing “Martinovi baraki 4”and “Rotata”.
Snow groomers technique also will be increased capacity. Borosport added Prinou machine brand, model Everest, which will contribute to perfectly prepared pistes throughout the season.

So a bit more than what we thought, presuming this is correct - and also martinovi baraki black added on for night skiing
what run is sitnyakovo 4? or do they mean the black martinovi baraki (4)...
i am seriously becoming impatient for january now!!
It's the especially suitable for beginners and intermediates that bothers me. Eventually most people if they continue to ski will progress to advanced or better and will eventually spend less time there because the runs are not difficult/fun enough. Maybe for 2016 they can make a run more suitable for the advanced skier rather than making them all easy

re:SNOW CANNON UPDATE - BOROVETS - 2ND SEPT
Hi Mark, hear what you say but after last season they had to do some thing for the learners to be able to progress. They were stuck on the baby slope opposite the Rila hotel or on Rotata with no where else to go.
OK it did get a bit boring for more advanced skiers but Yastrebets 2 and 3 were open all season with the snow cannons.

We have been walking on Sitnyakavo during the summer and all credit to Borosport for what they are doing, it is a major job, kilometers of trenches, pipes and cables, in many places they have been digging through solid rock.
When it is finished all you will see are the snow cannons but there is a lot going on underground.
We have heard that for the following season there will be snow cannons from the top of the Gondola station down Haramia and Yastrebets 1.
Maybe we will have so much snow this season like 2010/2011 that we will not need the snow cannons. That would be Sods Law in action.
