I have to join in this thrilling thread. I thought the 'BANSKO AWFUL' one was a winner but now I've found a thread that has beat it hands down.
I stayed at the Samakov last year and although I didnt miss a kettle at the time, I now feel possibly it was an opportunity missed.
I am hoping to go to Borovets in a couple of weeks and have just gone and found my travel kettle to see if that will enhance the experience. I am toying with the idea of a Thermos Flask as well - not a big one ...

1. The main constituent of hot chocolate is the hot water, same with hot tea and hot coffee. Therefore any weight difference will be insignificant.
2. If you are saying take a flask of hot chocolate instead of a kettle you need to remember that the drink will need to stay hot for the duration of the holiday (presumed one week, but again somewhat ambiguous in the original question).

I'm telling you this forum is the way ahead, it just shows that going to school was a complete waste of time. You dont get answers to the truly important questions.
These can only be gained through real life experience ..........hot chocolate genius, plus could take a hip flask with a bit of brandy.......but then I'm back to 2 flasks....damn.

Brainstorming is a good process. You should never be afraid to put forward your thoughts. (even though more often than not you risk ridicule on this site).
I am going to telephone the Samakov in a minute to see if we can resolve this matter about the kettle. I'll let you know.
