Take second flask instead of kettle and get hot water from the kitchen, therefore one for coffee one for tea.

Only problem now is finding a hotel kitchen that has anything hot in it.

re: Samokov Hotel Kettle Question

Listen everybody, some good news.

I just called the Samakov and asked "do you have kettles?"

His English was not too good but a man replied "We have 5 lanes of ten pin. It is 10 levs a go"

At least we know they do have kettles, but you might want to consider the following:

1. Why are the kettles stored in lanes, instead of indoors in the hotel? Will they be rusty, are they hygienic?
2. Why ten pin? Now we need to get a ten pin plug adapter.
3. At ten levs a time it would be ...

3. At ten levs a time it would be cheaper to buy your coffee / tea / chocolate from the hotel bar.

Only my own thoughts but Jaynes 6 litre Pressure Cooker still seems to be the best option.

At least we know.

re: Samokov Hotel Kettle Question

this is getting stupid now................everyone knows bacon rolls and hot chocolate dont go together.

Plus how would I cook the bacon, not only would I now need to take a kettle, but also a camping stove, and a pan - not sure if a 6 litre pressure cooker would be required maybe just a small frying pan - but all of a sudden my 15/20kg luggage allowance means I'm skiing naked.......then again if theres no snow I may as well stay in my room anyway.

re: Samokov Hotel Kettle Question

Your right flip it was a stupid suggestion, ill conceived and badly thougbt through. Marshmallows go with hot chocolate and require no cooking, how about you pop a few bacon flavoured marshmallows in ?

re: Samokov Hotel Kettle Question

For the love of god someone pay Flips excess baggage so we don't have to see him skiing naked, except for a bacon roll in one hand and a small flask Exclamation in the other.

re: Samokov Hotel Kettle Question

Sorry flip I was told that Bulgaria is the marshmallow capital of Europe and there marshmallow vending machines on every corner dispensing every conceivable flavour. Apparently anchovy and marmite are very tasty but would not fancy them with hot chocolate myself I would put them more of a bovril parnter

re: Samokov Hotel Kettle Question

Just had a thought, if my bro does eventually make up his mind and we do come over on the 30th - I think it will be in the Edelweiss that we'll be staying - now they may have kettles - so suddenly the goal posts have changed

re: Samokov Hotel Kettle Question

Another thought on the BANSKO AWFUL thread, did they have kettles there ? I mean you dont mind waiting for lifts if you've got a nice warm cup of coffee/hot chocolate/tea in your hand - now do you?
