Scottish pounds not legal tender?

Sorry to double-post, but I saw this in my Balkan handbook and just had to verify. Is it true that Scottish pounds aren't accepted as legal tender in Bulgaria? Cos if it is, my whole plan to get the best exchange rates just went down the tubes!

As far as I know they will not accept them so I would not recomend it. Unless any else knows different.

no chance mate if and when shopping in england and you hand over scottish notes especially £1 notes they struggle to take them then nae chance in bulgaria.

Scottish notes (Clydesdale bank)are no problem in Tenerife but every where I go in England there is always a five minute debate before they eventually accept them

Iv been reliably informed English notes only, no Scottish ones im afraid!

even then, make sure you English notes are not torn or defaced in any way. Best use cashpoints in resorts to withrdraw levs - best exchange going

You will not be able to use or change Scottish currency in Bulgaria.

remember you can change your scottish notes for english ones in the banks in scotland, so it shouldnt cause you any problems
