We did our first ski trip for 10 years last year and the one before that I did 50/50 - learning to board in the AM and skiing (which I could do) in the PM. By the end of the holiday I could turn but was still limited to blues and very easy reds.
I was just going to ski this year again but wondering if it's worth having a couple of mornings boarding to see if I can get the hang of it again.

When I know I can get down any piste on skis it makes me not relish the thought of sitting of my arse loads and possibly cracking a rib, breaking a wrist or smacking my teeth through my tounge...
Other the other hand, I'd love to be able to swap between the two at will....
The other problem I had was the lifts. I could not do buttons at all and simply fell off a chair. Oh the misery... but then again, in the words of Mrs. Doyle, maybe I like the misery...
Trouble deciding which way to swing ay jezz. my advice would be go straight mate stick to Boarding dude.you won't regret it. then you will be a true dude. dude.
paul.
spending time on your arse is a good thing, gives you a chance to take a breath, swill of the flask and take in the lovely scenery whilst the cold snow numbs your sore arse. or do as i do and buy some impact shorts.
I like the zen like attitude you have there. That's what drives me to think about boarding again but knowledge that I could be going anywhere on skis is overwhelming...
If you hire the board ... and get me a pint, I'll spend an hour with you, getting you on the tows. It'd a whole different art on a board (and I am a qualified instructor)
Go boarding, its sooooooooooo much easier... You could though if you have the mind and the determination try to master the far superior skill of skiing... You will have obstacles, and possibly feel like giving in, but persevere, the end result will see you actually doing something that requires real skill.... and you do not need to wear silly trousers
Cheers Rob - I will deffo take you up on that if I do it.
I will probably see how things pan out as it's only worth doing if I commit several hours a day to it and the temptation of powder skiing may simply be too strong!
